I Have A Dream
“Cock a Doodle Doo!” I don’t know why my neighbor thinks it is appropriate to have a rooster in the yard beside mine. My biggest question is how everyone else in my household seems to sleep through it every morning. None of my family or neighbors has ever mentioned it. All throughout the day it doesn’t make a sound. Is this bird a figment of my imagination? Why does it only wake me?
I roll out of bed onto the hardwood floor. Nothing wakes you up like hardwood to the face. I try to wake up the ladies with a kiss so we can start getting ready for work. They don’t wake up, I have to shake them. This isn’t my dream, it is my reality. God has placed me in this reality to give dream clarity. I am blessed to live in this reality, and I am truly grateful, but I know I’m not meant to be comfortable here. I am not the leader, husband or father God wants me to be, yet. I suffer from a condition, my late father had it too, its highly contagious, it’s called ambition. That condition does not allow me to be content where I am. I know that God wants more for me. I know that because my reality today, was my dream three years ago. But I’m not stopping here because my new dream is my new destination.
In my dream, when the cock crows at 5 am, it does not disturb me because I’ve already been up for an hour. I’ve studied my bible and now I am writing. I write for my devotion because I believe when God gives me something I have to share.
I don’t have to rush to work because I’m already there. I work for myself and I room with my coworkers. One of my coworkers wakes up, and gives me a kiss, she’s my wife Salina. The other two are asleep, Abigail and Grace, they are my daughters, they are 8 and 7 years old. I work with them in my dream because I want them to learn from what they see me doing. My motivation is not just to provide for my family but it is to lead and love my family. My wife and I are recently emancipated slaves. We used to work to be paid just enough to pay our bills and work again. We used to argue about money, and what we needed. We paid to do the things we enjoy, and after being exhausted by spending hours at work we spent the remaining hours of the day together as a family. I felt like a donkey chasing a carrot in my dream. When I wake up, I am the donkey!
In my dream we do what we are passionate about and we earn income from it. We use our passions to glorify God. We convert our passions into praise. We get paid to praise.
My conscious mind tells me that my dream is impossible. Fortunately my bible tells me that “with man this is impossible but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
I invite you to dream with me. If you believe please watch the journey and pray for me. If you think I am crazy, be entertained. Let me prove my God to you.
Where there is no vision the people perish Proverbs 29:18, and I’m not trying to perish today.
